Harvard Medical School Department of Biomedical Informatics | Process & Final Logo
Every year, Harvard Medical School's Department of Biomedical Informatics hold a Precision Medicine Conference, gathering expert scientists and leaders for a discussion on a topic within the precision medicine domain. This conference requires a new visual identity each year that aligns with its established brand system, which centers on a red and brown target symbol representing precision in medicine.
During my time as a Graphic Design and Communications intern for Harvard Medical School, I was tasked with designing the logo for the PMC's 2024 Conference "Education in the AI era". My challenge was to preserve the conference's core identity while introducing a new layer reflecting AI and modern learning.
After many rough sketches and meetings with DBMI's communication directors, I created a final design that reinterprets the target as a central "node" within a larger network, with the dreamcatcher-inspired lines representing synapse connections and the flow of information. This logo now lives on the PMC's website!
All rough sketches created in Procreate. Final logo and hero created on Adobe Illustrator, fitted for website on Adobe Indesign.
GELLIE | Package design process & mockups
During my Graphic Design 1 course at URI, we were asked to develop a full set of package designs for a brand of our choosing. I created GELLIE, a brand of organic children's gummies. Taking inspiration from the Trader Joe's cereal bar brand "This Fruit Walks into a Bar", I illustrated original characters and patterns to develop colorful, fun loving packaging directed towards young children.
All concept art (character and pattern designs) were produced in Procreate. Final designs were drawn on a WACOM tablet in Adobe Illustrator, and 3D mockups were created in Adobe Photoshop.
Fantastic Umbrella Factory | Company redesign process & branding materials
My final project for Graphic Design 2 at URI was to find a company in Rhode Island that could benefit from a rebrand. I chose The Fantastic Umbrella Factory, a whimsical "international bazaar" that includes multiple gift shops and botanical gardens, all under one umbrella company.
After a thorough SWOT analysis, I discovered that the company was well known around locals, but their website and branding were not up to date. I decided to revamp their identity with a fresh logo and branding materials, giving the company a new look to generate further outreach with a larger audience through merch, social media posts, and marketing materials.
All concept art and process work were produced in Procreate. Final logo designs and style guide were created in Adobe Illustrator , and mockups were made in Adobe Photoshop.
Fantastic Umbrella Factory | Social media carousel process & mockups
Along with my company redesign, I designed a series of promotional social media graphics to be posted singularly or in carousel format. I used many of the quotes from my concept development mind map to drive the decision making process behind my media mockups. I wanted each post to have a surreal sort of quality, keeping in line with the company's whimsical background.
